Nice work Helen! You had considerable challenges with being able to access many of the foods us North American’s have readily available, and even with having to make substitutions your results were excellent. Way to go!

ESSAY:
I am a 53 year old grandmother. I have been battling my weight for the past 10 years and losing the same 10 lbs over and over again! I came in contact with Coach Rylan’s program while surfing the NET for exercise and weight loss tips.
I kept coming back to his advertisement, but never bought anything. I kept thinking that I could just do it myself. Finally, I woke up one morning with a very swollen middle finger that was throbbing and very painful. I checked my ESR levels and they were high (an indicator of arthritis and other inflammaory diseases). So, when Coach Rylan offered this program for free to try out as guinea pigs, I thought, why not?
I was skeptical because I have never given myself over to anyone else to control my eating and exercise. I was expecting to lose more weight than I did, but I now realize that it isn’t just about the weight, but more about losing the fat and getting fit. I lost 3.7kg and a total of 8 inches. I was someone disappointed because I am still 50% above what I should weigh and I’m still quite large. But hey, I didn’t get this way overnight, so I cannot expect to lose it all in just 6 weeks! I have committed to staying with the program as a lifestyle. I was surprised to find that the program is based on sound principles that I had been trying to follow. The program allowed me to have more structure and gave me accountability.
I would recommend this program to anyone who wants to get fit and lose unwanted fat. I have no idea what dollar value to place on what I have achieved. To me it has been invaluable. I’ve read about having low carb days and low fat days, but I never had the time to sit down and calculate it all out. With Coach Rylan’s Fat Loss Program, I didn’t have to think or calculate, but just follow what was laid out before me. To me that seems priceless! A big thanks for the opportunity to prove to myself that I can change my lifestyle, not just lose weight and then go back to the same-old, same-old and have the weight and FAT return.
Thanks, Coach Rylan!

Hi Helen. I can see you’ve lost it off your waist thighs, face and arms. You look younger too! Well done, keep going! You say you’re “quite large” I dont think you are?! FLP will be the perfect tone up, which is possibly all you need in my humble opinion.
Thanks, Kim, you’re very kind. I have been a size 0-6 most of my adult life, so doubling in size from my lowest weight has been very disturbing to me. I found out that FLP-1 guinea pigs can join up for round 2, so I have signed up, again! I hesitated because of the restrictions, but I can already see myself sliding into old habits, so I figure another 6 weeks can only help.
what page do i go to so i can sign up?
Great job,Helen! Kim’s right, you do look younger!
I’m glad to hear that another FLP#1 guinea pig joined round 2! I signed up as soon as Coach announced that we could. I too am sliding back into old habits. I’m anxious to start again!
Good on you DeAnne and Helen for signing up again. You will do great! I’m still eating FLP style and loving it (I calorie cycle 3 says a week) and I am exercising, but not as hard and religiously as I was on FLP by a long shot. Yet I am still losing weight. I think I’ve lost about 2.6kg since FLP finished. So I think I can “survive in the wild” with these new skills. It’s the exercise that is harder for me, than the food. I do need to get my act together and join WOTM…I am trying to find some happy medium between FLP intensity and “enough” and so far, so good, though I know I could ramp up the exercise more and get back to those pullups (downs..!)
You’ve got great results in only six weeks. I’ll be with you in FLP II and I hope to see the same kind of results.
I’ve been curious about how many guinea pigs dropped out before completing the program.
Thanks, DeAnne and Louise. I wondered the same thing about dropouts. There weren’t that many of us blogging even after the first couple of weeks.
I’m with Kim and the exercise. My butt was certainly kicked during the last couple of weeks of FLP-I, but I can actually do a full floor push-up now. Maybe I’ll even be able to do a chin-up at the end of FLP-II???
I think the total drop out rate was about 4 and I think they were all within the first week or two.
There were a few others who did well but didn’t want their photos public, so they forfeited their deposit even though they got great results.
I’m a little shy about internet photos, but if I get results anywhere near these ladies, I’ll be happy to be on the web. I haven’t always been as heavy as I am now.
That’s part of the reason having your photos public is so important. It’s that much more motivation for you to stick to the plan and work hard.
Time and time again I see the same issues: Those who don’t have anything to lose, don’t work as hard as those who do.
The daily blog, the deposit, the photos, it’s all designed to keep you accountable and motivated so your results will be every bit as good as the others.
Others who don’t tell anyone they’ve started a fitness plan always give themselves an escape route. They give themselves permission to fail because they won’t be held accountable by anyone.
I’ve been reading your blog for awhile now. It is one that I really enjoy and keep coming back to read when my busy schedule allows me to.
Please keep up the nice work.
