Coach Rylan
Hey Coach,
I’m still running on lack of sleep, so I got confused a couple of days with my food choices. Not deliberate! I will be exercising Sat a.m. to make up for missing Wednesday. Here’s the blog:

Hey coach, I had an unintentional mix-up with my menu. I started out on 1 day and ended on another menu. Sorry, I guess my husband being back is distracting me
My make-up for Wed exercise will be Sat a.m.

Hey Coach, Tried commenting last night, but it would not go through??

That was MY last night. Worked fine this time! I got a little confused as to what day it was on Friday, so 1/2 the day was one menu and then the other 1/2 the alternate menu. I guess my husband being back home is distracting me . . .
My make-up exercises for missing Wednesday have been completed. They are included in the blog.

Hi Coach! Could not post last night for some reason, so I am trying again today.
My blog is updated at: http://britgrls.blogspot.com
Hi Coach:
This is my fourth attempt to post. My blog is updated at: http://britgrls.blogspot.com/
Week Two blog is complete and ready for review.

I’m two hours late, but my post is now complete. The blog was giving me fits. For some reason when I was looking at the preview it was often showing it without spacing or paragraphs. You can’t argue with computers, so I was going back and forth until it would eventually show the post as I actually typed it.

I was happy to have some more variety in food choices this week.
What happened to the rest of the GPs? I only count 8 of us.
Good question Louise, I was wondering the same thing.
Great, thanks Louise
Thanks Judy, looking forward to reading it.
Seemed to be a bit of a delay for some reason, looks good now Petra.
Thanks Carla
Lots of fresh snow here too DeAnne, looking forward to hearing about it.
thanks Helen, I’ll check it out now
Thanks for checking in Cynthia, I’ll have a look at your blog now.
Looks like there’s snow all around. I’m in Pennsylvania, 60 miles north of Philadelphia. We were to get two inches of snow yesterday. It’s probably actually five inches. And last Sunday it was 60 degrees.
By the way, I looked at your camera test using your garden. I’m a Penn State Master Gardener. It’s one of my volunteer activities and I excel at turf but I help at a couple of community gardens. Do you have fish in the pond? My friends have trouble with herons scooping the fish from their ponds. Netting helps a little, but not much.

Thanks K!
The Herons get a few, but the fish that are left each year are getting smarter and smarter
Hi Coach:
I have a couple of questions regarding the nutrition. I was diagnosed hypothyroid in 2002 and I’ve read that hypothyroid people should avoid soy. Should I eat the edamame for the snack? In the original Fat Loss Project blog, you mentioned snack alternatives, but I could not find what they were – what could I eat instead?
Also, apparently, if you’re hypothyroid, you should avoid raw foods in the brassica family such as broccoli, cabbage, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, kale, mustard greens, turnips, soybeans, peanuts, millet and spinach. Seeing as some of these are in our snacks, is it okay to cook them first?
Speaking of cooked vegetables – I’m getting a bit burned out on salad. In the evening meals, would it be okay to eat vsteamed greens, such as spinach, collard, or turnip greens instead of the salad?
Thanks Coach!

HELP please! What do you mean by this sentence, “Salmon Burger On Greens (when eating this meal twice in one week, you can substitute ground turkey breast for the salmon)” Why can I not substitute turkey if I eat it only once in a week? 8oz of ground turkey – is that for one meal, or two?
Also, how big are your cans of salmon? I used one can – 7oz (5oz drained) but it seemed like a lot!
Depends if you are taking medication for it or not. Edamame is not like most soy products that are processed and bastardized – it’s very healthy, and you aren’t eating a large amount.
Same for the other foods, cook them if you need to – but it’s really only a concern because of medication interactions. If you aren’t taking meds, the problem with the foods is unlikely.
The evening salad is very important. Cooking always destroys some nutritive properties and enzymes. Raw vegetables and salads are critical. so no, do not remove them.
Because the salmon is more nutritious and more conducive to fat loss – I don’t want you skipping it.
The 8 oz is for cooking two servings.
The salmon I use is 5 oz drained, but you can reduce that to half if it’s too much.
Thanks Coach:
I do take meds for my thyroid problem, but I am hoping that if I eat these foods more than four hours after taking the meds that there will be no interactions. Just like I take calcium later in the day.
I really enjoyed the edamame snack yesterday, so I will assume because it is later in the day, I will be okay. And I will be sure to keep eating the salad.
Aha, I gotcha! Thanks Coach! I have to say, I loved the salmon burgers. 5oz seems like a lot (I actually made 4 patties out of it), but it was so tasty, I ate the whole lot! Yum!
Thank you for asking that question, Petra.. I had the same question in mind.. and thank you, Coach for clearing it up.. It was a very very good salmon burger..so is the tuna salad.. I really like them both.. thank you..for having such nutritious AND tasty food..We all really appreciate it and you… you know.. Judy
Thank you again, Coach, for clarifying why some of these things are so important..it helps to understand it.. helps me stick to everything… just as you say..
Judy
What a week. Computer had to go to the hospital. Then trying hard to catch up. Two days of exercise yesterday. Then mixed up thinking everything had to go in including today. My apologies.
Love the smoothie day. Wish it was on for every breakfast. It is so easy, filling and nutritious.
Don’t think my weight for some of the exercises is adequate. It is a little 2 pounder you can wear on your wrist or ankle etc.
I took my ring to the jewellers to get resized because of my weight loss
and she wanted to know how I did it. So I told her the story and
she is very interested. I would like to know exactly the email to give her when I go to pick my ring up. Thank you in advance. Here is the blog.

You got it Judy – don’t think – just do.
My brain doesn’t turn off that easy.
It’s pretty easy if you can just trust me. just remember that it works, that I know what I am doing, and you don’t have to worry about anything else. I do all the thinking so you don’t have to.
Hi Coach! It’s me, with yet another question. I know the evening snack is optional. If we do decide to eat a snack, is it okay to eat just the nuts without the veggies, or does it have to be the nut/veggie combo? Veggies aren’t to appealing to me at 9pm, but if I should, I will.
Thanks!
if you aren’t hungry enough to eat the veggies too, then you don’t need the snack.
