Hi
Im going to 60 May 27th 2011, My arms are very depressing to look at because they are sagging, wrinkled and loose I would love to tone them up for looks, strength, I look young for my age but my arms especially my forarms are drooppy I f I could have great arms and shoulders I feel more confident in wearing sleeveless tops, When I was younger I would get compliments on my shoulders and arms because there long and lean, they still are just losing elasticity, well thanks I have to get back to shape soon its never to late!

Update:
In case this helps anyone...

...my knees have been inflamed all week from doing the day 1 exercises, and I started getting concerned. I already take fish oil, but yesterday, I started taking borage oil, glucosamine & chondroitin (good for joints), and I rubbed castor oil and MSM Liposome lotion on my knees. I also eat lots of cruciferous veggies, which are also very healing. My knees are not completely back to normal, but they are "much" better and "almost" back to normal. Maybe it's just "time," but I think these supplements are really helping. Anyway, for anyone else with knee issues, I hope this information helps. :)

Coach Rylan,
Thanks again for your tips regarding my wrists, and I'm sure you would have liked to have responded about my knees, but I can imagine it's a very complicated subject to talk about/advise online. From now on, I will only do exercises that are known to be safe for the knees and will make sure I know how to safety do them using proper form so as to not hurt myself. AARP and exercise tips for seniors, here I come! haha =)

Hey Coach Rylan,

I think I'm realizing that I'm just more fragile than most, as I'm still feeling pressure (and minor pain) in my knees despite taking it easy since Friday. Perhaps I wasn't using good form while doing the exercises, which is possible, as they were quite difficult for me. I wish I "could" do them, as I thought they provided for a great workout, and they were fun to boot! I'm sure most can handle them just fine. Anyway, I'm on a quest to look for some "old lady" exercises I guess. :) I will continue to do the HIIT training, and thanks to you, I'm now adding oatmeal to my daily smoothies and loving it! I'm really bummed about not being about to do the strength training exercises, as I know it's a great plan that gets results. Oh well, I guess I'll just find some old lady exercises and mix those up instead. Anyway, thanks for all the great information in your book!

Coach Rylan,

Thanks for your reply! Great info! I will keep all of this in mind for sure and am taking notes! I don't yet have any issues with my wrists, but I may do this technique anyway as a preventative measure.

After writing my last post, I'm realizing I'm feeling some pressure in my knees, and my guess is that this is due to the burpees and mountain climbers. They don't "hurt," but I just feel some pressure. My inclination now is to avoid these, even though at the time, I felt they gave a great workout!

...these are the type of things that make me avoid strength training exercises, as I'm always worried I'm going to hurt myself and cause long-term damage!! :( I'm only 32 - no pains yet, but I want to keep it that way! haha

Thanks again! :)

Hey there - Sarah I assume? I'm guessing from your email address. Correct me if I'm wrong - I like to address people by their first name if possible.

Thanks for picking up the book, and I'm very happy you like it so far.

What you're describing is a common complaint from clients who have a tendency towards carpal tunnel from lots of computer work.

In this case what I have my clients do is get a pair of boxing wrist wraps in addition to a pair of weightlifting gloves. The boxing wraps are a pair of fabric rolls that have a thumb loop stitched into them - boxers wrap their knuckles and wrists with them before putting on their gloves.

What you will want to do is wrap your wrists and hands with these wraps, and then slide your weight lifting gloves on over top. You will need to get a larger pair of gloves than your normally wear to ensure they fit with the extra girth of the wraps.

This will give you plenty of wrist and hands support, and takes off nearly all of the pressure that you feel now.

As you progress through the program and get stronger, you can then ween yourself off of the wraps, and use just gloves.

I worked with many clients with severe carpal tunnel, and this method works wonders.

Here is a link to the type of wrist wraps I'm talking about: http://tinyurl.com/25fjq4t

Hope that helps,

Coach

Coach Rylan,

I just bought your book, "Totally Toned Arms." I'm very impressed with the information it contains, especially with nutrition (I'm a big believer in lots of veggies!)! A great read! Thank you for providing us with this great book. :)

I did "Day 1" today. The cardio part was easy for me, but the strength training certainly had me out of breath! :) The workout was great, but I'm concerned about my wrists. It seems that many of the exercises have you bend at the wrists and then put a great deal of pressure on them to stay in that position while supporting one's weight. Is this something I should be concerned about, or perhaps there's a tip you could share? I type a lot for work and am concerned about these exercises interfering with that.

Thanks Coach Rylan!! I'm excited about going through all 21 days! :)

1) Why do you need this book?
Hola Ryan, Sorry that my English is not that good, but since this is your book i can imagine how great it is. I would love to have this book because my arms are very bad, since I was a teenager, people use to tell me your arms are so big for your body, now they are not that big, but they are flabby.and the underarms skin is so flabby that I hide everything using long sleeves. I have this faith inside me that some day my dream will come true. This is why when I saw your program I went crazy and bought it, eventhough I don't believe i need the whole program because I weight 118., but I trust you a 100% and also because I am going to follow step by step your advice.
2) What do you hope it will do for you?
I hope that following your program and this book I can achive my goal which is to be happy with me and show those terrible people that made feel so bad.
3) How will your life change once you’ve accomplished your goal?
Once I have accomplished my goal I will continue contacting you for more advice, because i can't stop just there, and my God I will be the must happy 58 yrs. lady in this planet. Ryan I went to see a doctor for smart lipo and he told me that I was to old and that my skin was going to be like that no matter what i would do..Can you believe this...Another rejection. I will promised you that I will follow every single step, you will be my coach, even if i have to pay you. Ryan thank you for your positive input and confidence. believe or not I love you already...God bless you always. thank you so much Luz

Hi Debbie,

Your story is one I've heard so many times. There are a number of things I can pick out from your description that are certainly contributing to the issue of sagging arms and other areas. The good news is, it can be reversed. It's simply too much to cover here but that is exactly what my new book will help you with. It lays out everything in a really easy to understand format - step by step. I don't yet have a DVD out, so I'm not sure what you are referring to there, but the book can be found on Amazon or Barnes and Noble for about $12 - which is super cheap for everything it will provide you with.

The tops of my kness are starting to do that to, I walk and am in good shape other wise. I've tried all kinds of arm work outs, I eat well, and nothing seems to help. I need your help. But Can't afford at this time to buy you dvd. I f you can help I'd really appreciate it and tell every one about your program. Thanks for your time Debbie Wood
