I know I am bossy.
I tell you what to do all the time.
Realistically, that is just the nature of my line of work.
As a Coach, I am responsible for helping you achieve your goals, and that responsibility comes part in parcel with me telling you what to do and how to do it.
But too often in this work, us coaches don’t stop and listen to what YOU, the client and customer, really wants.
So this is my turn to switch things around and listen to what you have to say.
What do YOU want?
What do you need to help you reach your goals?
Do you want daily emails to encourage you and motivate you?
Do you want me to email you once a month or less?
Do you want step-by-step exercise videos that you can watch on your computer or at home?
Do you want photos that you can print out and take with you?
Do you want a done-for-you eating plan and exercise regime that you don’t have to think about at all, just pick up an go?
Let me know, and then tell me how much it’s worth to you.
For example, maybe this is what you want:
- You want a program that will help you lose 30 pounds in 30 days.
- You want me to email you each day and tell you exactly what to eat.
- You want a new exercise program each week so you don’t get bored.
- You want a video demonstration of every single exercise in the program.
- You want me to tell you exactly how many reps to do, and how many sets to do each and every day.
- You also want the exercises to require no equipment.
How much would you pay for all of that?
It’s up to you.
Maybe losing 30 pounds, getting a new body, and not having to think about one single thing while you do it is worth $1000 to you.
Maybe it’s only worth $100.
Be reasonable, and tell me what it’s really worth to you. If I think I can do it for that price, then I will. Obviously I can’t devote all my time to a program that you want for free, I have to make a living too. But I will seriously consider any reasonable offers.
The point is, I want to provide products and services that you really want, instead of me trying to guess what you want and then putting my price tag on it.
I will be starting my next big Go Sleeveless revision soon, so I want to hear what you have to say.
Tell me in the comments below. I will read every single one and take all of your opinions into account. This new updated program could very well see the light of day in a few weeks.

Come on folks!
Tell me what you want, and tell me how much you want it for!
No I don’t want the diet stuff etc as I am already eating healthy and to a plan and have lost 24 kilos since last Oct, 35 kg to go..Was just concerned about the arms, which i have lost 6cm off already. Want to do extra work on these. I already do strength training (Pump) at least 2x a week plus interval training 2x a week. Sounds like i am on the right track from what I have read in your e-book. So, being very low on money as well, I dont think there is much more you can do for me, though I found your e-book reaffirming. You are saying exactly what i have been working to. Thank you.
Rylan -
I know your time is worth alot more than I can really pay. As you said, it is tough economic times. I know my health is worth alot more than I can pay also.
I want to lose 30 pounds and look great in a swimsuit again. I am currently 5’3″ and 140lbs. I haven’t weighed this since I was 9 months pregnant. I’m used to wearing size 3/5 clothes. Since I hit 40 years old (4 years ago) the pounds keep adding up. I want my petite little body back! Help!
What I need is a simple daily menu of grab-and-go items that won’t take much, if any, to prepare. A menu prepared once per week would work fine for me.
I’m still having sugar cravings. Until your most recent article on Spenda, I was drinking at least one diet drink that contained it. I have stopped drinking any of that. I do use Stevia in my coffee, which is only one cup per day if that.
I also have a Bowflex Revolution that I would like to use for my routine. I purchased a heart monitor as you suggested. I play on a womens softball team and wore it during a game to see where my heart rate was during play. There were times it starting beeping because it was going over the max. I knew my chest was pounding at times, especially running from 1st to home, but I didn’t think it got that high.
What is a reasonable amount of time that I could drop 30lbs? I would be willing to pay $50 per month for the services I mentioned.
Thank you, Rylan!
Hey Coach. Your suggestions in the blog are great ideas. I especially liked the one about having video demonstrations for each exercise. Sometimes I have a hard time understanding how I’m supposed to perform some of the exercises just by reading the description. It would also be helpful to know exactly which muscles are being targeted by each exercise…I’m always curious.
I do enjoy your frequent emails, as it is always very encouraging. This is something I believe we all need as we’re transforming our bodies . . . some motivating and encouraging words to keep us going in the right direction. There are times when I’m on a plateau or not really feeling like working out, and I need that little extra push! So, a daily email from our much respected Coach would be wonderful, whether it be a gentle push or a more aggressive one.
Oh, and I would like you to come to my place and be my very own personal trainer as well as my very own chef, feeding me only what’s best for my body. Ok, ok, I’m just kidding…that’s only in my dreams! I could never afford you.
I really have no idea on a suggestion for a price, but so far, with all of your products you’ve sold, they are always a fair price, so I trust you will come up with just the right amount. All of your current clients, I’m sure, think enough of you to pay whatever you ask! I sure do. Sorry if I was no help in that area. I really don’t know what to suggest.
Thanks for the suggestions Amy, I appreciate you taking the time to let me know.
I wouldn’t worry about your heart rate going over ‘max’. The max suggested by the monitor is simply an estimate, you may have a much higher max heart rate. There is nothing wrong with taking your heart rate to maximum capacity if you are healthy. I do it frequently in my interval training workouts.
The only thing that will happen is you won’t be able to sustain it for very long and you will get tired. It’s not as if you heart will blow up or anything

Hi Rylan,
On my way out the door for holidays, but definitely would like to come up with a plan to continue with your programs. I have learned so much from the detox diet and in changing the way that I eat.
I understand the importance of changing the programs every 6 – 8 weeks and would like to be able to continue with this and would like your assistance to come up with a plan that meets my needs and my budget. I would like to look at a yearly budget and try to see how we could make this fit for both of us. I did like the video exercise program that you made for me – it was a good reference point if one required a refresher. The still shots worked well too! I will be returning from holidays on 09 Aug 2009 and then would really like to connect then.
I appreciate everything that you’ve taught me so far and I know that there is a lot more that I can incorporate into my life.
Hope your summer is going well and I look forward to talking to touching base with you in a couple of weeks!

I just saw a program relating to women bodybuilders. Supposedly, these were natural body builders, “no steroids.” They claim they work out hard and long and watch their diets. These women looked more like men than any man I have ever met. Also, none of them were physically attractive in the face. Is it true a women can get that large and manly? What about females not having the testosterone to get that large. I am always told that in order to see change I need to lift a little heavier. Now I’m afraid after watching this. What is really the truth about weightlifting for women?
Completely false. In the off chance that they are actual true polygraph tested natural bodybuilders (all bodybuilders say they are natural, but very few actually are), they still take supplements and eat a diet that promotes increased testosterone.
Ladies, listen up!! You aren’t going to bulk up and look like a man!! But the FEAR that you will will seriously hold you back from real results.
Read that last sentence again, and then once more.
And then watch my video on women’s fear of bulking up:
